Our Classes
Pre-school: Your child will be divided in to his/her class based on Ages 2-5 year olds. 2 turning 3 year olds do BRONZE, 3 turning 4 year olds do SILVER, 4 turning 5 year olds do GOLD and 5 turning 6 year olds do PLATINUM.
This phase is known as an introductory programme to gymnastics.
Pre Level 1, Level 1-3: Gymnasts competing in pre level 1 compete in two competitions per year – one in the first half of the year and one in October/ November of that year. Pre level 1 is the level any gymnast has to complete to be able to start participating in the official competition programme, which begins with level 1.
Only gymnasts 6 turning 7 years old and older, may compete in official competitions.
The level 1 -3 gymnasts get awarded Central Gauteng half colours, should they achieve a minimum score of 34.0 points at the district and / provincial competition which is normally held in May each year.
Level 4-9: Gymnasts competing in the level 4-9 programme of SAGF, receive full Central Gauteng colours should they achieve the minimum total score as set out by the SAGF each year.
Gymnasts are awarded over all and apparatus medals for the various competitions and the level 4-9 programme is a more advanced programme of gymnastics.
Classes, Olympic Entry Level & Olympic: The classes programme, which also leads to Olympic Entry Level and the Junior & Senior Olympic sections, is a high performance programme, which requires gymnasts to train 20+ hours per week.
